I've always been amazed by the world around me. In college I saved up for a camera and started photographing whatever caught my attention — usually something I wanted a closer look at, or something I wanted to show someone else. Video and photography arrived at the same time, and I've never really separated the two since.

What I'm drawn to is raw beauty, and the moments you have to work for. Most of the good ones don't come easily — early starts, long walks, waiting on light that might not show up. I think there's something worth having in that effort itself: the work of closing the gap between the picture in your head and the one you actually come back with.

Selling prints felt like a natural extension of that. Seeing other people's work is what got me outside in the first place, and putting a moment on someone's wall is a good way to pass that along — the color, the quiet, whatever it was that made me stop.

For now I print and ship every order myself. It matters to me that the same hands that made the photograph are the ones that print it and put it in the mail. It keeps the whole thing personal.
